Level 1 Stained Glass Bookend Class

$280.00

This is a 2 week class that meets on 2 consecutive Saturdays: March 8th from 11am-3pm & March 15th from 11am-3pm at our studio located at 2131 East Michigan Street. This class is open to anyone as I will be covering every step of the process but some glass experience would be helpful.

In this class, we’ll be making a pair of stained glass bookends! These will be both beautiful and functional! The base for our bookends are being made custom by local woodworker Anisha Thiel. The second photo shows an example of the bases. There will be multiple different wood types to choose from (walnut, oak, etc.) Photo 3 shows the pattern options you will get to choose from. I will reach out via email prior to the class to ask which pattern you would like to make. Photo 4 shows the pressed flower pattern example that I made. During day one of class, we will choose our glass before cutting & grinding our pieces. During day three of class, we will foil and solder our piece. You’ll also have the choice of applying patina (changing the color of the solder lines to black). You’ll get to leave with your finished pair of bookends at the end of day 2!

Participants must be 18 or older to register for this class. This is a 2 week class and you are expected to come to both days. If an emergency arises, preventing you from making it to one of the classes, please notify me as soon as possible. We will then have to reschedule that day to get you caught up. Rescheduling one or two of the class dates will result in a $50 additional fee per class date. There are no refunds if you end up not being able to take the class. Instead, a 50% credit will be given to put towards a future class (only if 48+ hours notice is given).
