Open studio hours are designed for glass artists looking for a communal space to create their art! The only requirement to attend open studio is that you have taken at least one beginner level class at my studio or another studio, or are self-taught. Open studio hours are not meant to replace a class or for you to get step-by-step directions of the stained glass process. However, there will always be a member of the studio present to answer questions and provide tips when needed. Even if you have a home studio set-up, open studio is a great opportunity to work alongside other artists and get tips on skills you’d like to improve upon. Check out all the details & find registration below!

When is open studio & how much does it cost?

Open studio days will vary week to week but schedules will be posted about a month in advance. You can find all scheduled dates below or can check our monthly calendar for a quick overview! Participants of open studio will pay for each date separately and it will act as a day pass to use the studio as much or little as you want for that day’s specific open hours. For example, if you sign up for open studio on a date where the allotted hours are 12-4pm, you will pay the rate of the day pass whether you only use 1 hour of that time or the entire 4 hours. For now, open studio will be a flat rate amount of $50 per day pass. I plan to offer monthly memberships in the near future for folks who would like to come more regularly and get a better deal!

What’s included in the cost of open studio?

The cost will include use of the space, all tools, and most supplies. The only supplies that you will need to purchase separately are glass & metals (solder, copper foil, lead came, zinc border, & chain). These items can be purchased at a competitive rate from my studio or you can purchase these items elsewhere and bring them with you. There will also be a section of free glass that participants of open studio are welcome to use in their projects. Let’s get into the nitty gritty of everything that’s included in the cost of open studio!

  • Use of our 1,200 square foot studio, which is equipped with 6 work benches, garage door, & ventilation system.

  • All tools & equipment necessary for copper foil & leaded stained glass. This includes but is not limited to glass cutting tools, foiling tools, glass grinders, & soldering tools. All of our tools are made by reputable brands such as Toyo, Inland, & Hakko.
