Open studio hours are designed for glass artists looking for a communal space to create their art! The only requirement to attend open studio is that you have taken at least one beginner level class at my studio or another studio, or are self-taught. Open studio hours are not meant to replace a class or for you to get step-by-step directions of the stained glass process. However, there will always be a member of the studio present to answer questions and provide tips when needed. Even if you have a home studio set-up, open studio is a great opportunity to work alongside other artists and get tips on skills you’d like to improve upon. Check out all the details & find registration below!
Open Studio
When is open studio & how much does it cost?
There are two options for open studio: individual day passes and monthly memberships. If you choose to pay for dates individually, it will be a flat rate of $50 for the date you choose. For example, if you sign up for a date where the allotted hours are 12-4 pm, you will pay the flat rate of $50 whether you only use 1 hour of that time or the entire 4 hours. Monthly memberships are $150 and you may attend any scheduled open studio during that particular month. Monthly memberships also include added perks that you can check out by clicking on the listing for monthly memberships below. Open studio days will vary week to week but schedules will be posted about a month in advance. You can find all scheduled dates below or can check our monthly calendar for a quick overview!
What’s included in the cost of open studio?
The cost will include use of the space, all tools, and most supplies. The only supplies that you will need to purchase separately are glass & metals (solder, copper foil, lead came, zinc border, & chain). All non-included supplies can be purchased from my studio (current pricing list shown here) or you can purchase these items elsewhere and bring them with you. However, I do not sell sheets of glass. There is a great section of free glass that participants of open studio are welcome to use in their projects and I’m happy to provide you with a list of places to purchase glass. Let’s get into the nitty gritty of everything that’s included in the cost of open studio!
